Dear friends,
Happy 2024! In genuine AberrantNews fashion I’m late, but on time for lunar new year!
(❁´◡`❁) This is around the time when everyone has faltered on all their New Year's resolutions and when things really start to move in the year.
New this year: I’ve started offering more services in consulting and in-person group sensory intensives (read more below)

TL;DR
Now is the perfect time to start aligning ourselves to that which we all have in common rather than the things that make us different.
Aligning our humanity is really the only way to craft a better world.
We can do this. I can do this. You can do this.
It's time for our second wind.

Sometimes, I forget
Moss grows from my lips
I am fertile
l am rich
I am moist and mineral
Sometimes, I forget
I am the oyster
I am small
organic magic
an infinite thread of fabric
Sometimes, I forget
I was born with pride
It was budding from my shoulders
and all I gotta do is water it…
Sometimes, I
forget
I have shelter within
Sometimes, I forget.
I am shelter within
and the curious way
others try to reach it
Oh -I may feel like l've lost
but I'm holding my own
don't you know?
-everybody's got
a second wind
oh-everybody knows,
everybody's got
A second wind.

Clearly, given that my name is Circe, I do have some familiarity with mythology...(I know you know this) I will reveal to you that Circe is not my first name; it is my pseudonym/nickname and it is loosely based on some of the mythology that everyone is familiar with. I did not give myself this name; but I have adopted it as my own…That is myth, and myth is almost always a lesson, whether the teller is teaching or the pupil wants to learn.
Myth creeps into the subconscious through interaction and awakens to its version of sentience.
A myth is a life-force, and it can take place in multiple life worlds. The way to write a great myth isn’t in the writing of tales, it’s in the living; it’s in the reverie; it’s in the participation of wonder and paying attention to your dreams... continue reading on Medium…
The Ones Who Stay

The ones who stay…
I think about this often.
Stay vs. Leaving,
What makes people stay and fight?
Is it love?
Is it misunderstanding?
I am a traveler and wanderer,
I don't stay.
I'm probably the descendant of a nomadic people,
People who, if they had stayed where they were, wouldn't have survived.
But what are the implications of always leaving?
Is it a sense of fragmentation, of not knowing where you come from?
Of lacking a culture, or the security that comes with staying in one place?
Not remembering who or where you come from.
This piece is a reflection from The Ones Who Stay and Fight by N. K. Jemisin.

Are you the person who stays or do you walk away?

I too think about this often
I think I’d like to stay but often my growth
Determines my course
And if a plant outgrows it pot
It’s time to let that plant be
In a broader environment
When the temptation to rekindle
Old relations it feels forced
Versus the adventure of fresh
Connections with flow
And variety
Variety is one of my personal big thirsts
Some scale toward the certainty of a thing
So glad you brought it up
I dream of breakfast sandwiches amongst great company in a wild variety of settings.. may the joyful times flow abundantly your way in giddiest pomp and circumstance
